Open Question: Ideas for week long hiking/camping trip?

My friend and I are starting to plan a 1-2 week hiking/camping trip for next summer and I guess the first thing we need to plan is WHERE we should go. 48 states would be preferable, other suggestions are welcome. What are some of the best trips you have been on? We will both be 20, and fit, but this will be the first trip of this nature for the both of us, though we have extensive outdoor experience.
