Open Question: Question for backpackers?

I'm 18 and have been backpacking regularly since I was 8. I've always used a basic ultra-lightweight backpack, as opposed to ones designed for women/girls. (This is because my father's the one who introduced me to backpacking, and he bought a second backpack when my older brother was born, expecting the boy to be the outdoor fanatic like him... well, my brother enjoys air conditioning and no physical labor, but fortunately my dad got a camping companion in his daughter ;D)

But I was talking to another female backpacker the other day about how I was planning on buying a new backpack soon, and she said I should really get a backpack designed for women because it the design conforms better to her and she finds it much easier to carry. On the other hand, I have sort of a boyish shape, so I'm not really sure if it would be that helpful to me.

Also, I want to order off Ebay to get a cheaper backpack, so I don't have the opportunity to try one on.

Thoughts? Should I just stick with a basic backpack as I have in the past or get one designed to fit women?

Thanks!
